Pathway to Work

Pathway to Work is a nonprofit organization that prepares adults with developmental disabilities for sustainable, integrated work opportunities through the provision of individualized support, training, and resources.

Our participants at Pathway to Work are young adults who are 18 years old and older, have exited high school and have developmental disabilities such as Autism and Down Syndrome. Many of our participants need a lot of supports (staffing and accommodations) to be successful. We provide our participants with high-quality services in three program areas: Day Treatment, Vocational Training, and Employment Services. However, these operations areas are not progressive or self-contained. Rather, all three programs are integrated, multidirectional, and supportive of one another. All of our programs:
• Promote employment outcomes consistent with an individual's talents, knowledge and abilities.
• Provide training for work and life skills.
• Prepare participants for work experiences aligned with strengths, preferences and interests.
• Develop and coordinate resources to provide opportunities for integrated work experiences.
• Educate the community and businesses regarding the mutual benefits of employing people with
developmental disabilities.
Additionally, in order to support our mission and provide meaningful learning experiences for our participants, Pathway to Work has also worked very hard to create a variety of collaborative relationships with other non-profit organizations to create supported opportunities out in the community so our participants can practice employment and social skills. In the past two years, we have worked diligently to create strong relationships with eight local non-profit organizations to establish volunteer work opportunities for Pathway to Work participants. In fact, in 2019, Pathway to Work participants provided over 4,200 volunteer hours to local non-profit organizations.
