Patient Services, Inc

A nonprofit organization

Founder and president, Dana Kuhn experienced the trials and challenges of chronic illness personally. Due to the illness and death of a spouse, he was challenged to raise two preschool children by himself. While employed at a Richmond, Virginia hospital as a clinical counselor, he encountered other families devastated by chronic illnesses. In response, Kuhn founded PSI in 1989 in an effort to help this underserved community. The organization’s original purpose was to advocate and provide for the unmet needs of individuals affected by hemophilia and HIV. From this beginning, PSI’s mission expanded to assist families facing over a dozen different chronic illnesses. For nearly two decades, PSI has been able to assist tens of thousands of patients in response to an ever-increasing need for premium and co-payment assistance. PSI is the "ground breaking" 501 (c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization and is a recipient of a positive United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General Opinion, specifically allowing PSI to assist Medicare patients with premium and co-payment assistance without infringing upon enticement/inducement or fraud and abuse.
