Safe and Sound

Rescued animals endure all types of circumstances before arriving in our care. Each one needs to be nurtured in order to thrive in a forever home. Our goal is for each animal at PAWS Atlanta to be safe and sound.

Our shelter pets arrive at PAWS Atlanta for a variety of reasons. Some are beloved family pets surrendered when their humans run out of options. Some are rescued from overcrowded partner shelters that are unable to meet their needs. This year more than ever, many are left at our gate to fend for themselves. So far this year, 154 dogs and cats have been abandoned at PAWS Atlanta’s front gate. Unfortunately, this challenge is not unique. Shelters across the country are experiencing some of the highest numbers of abandoned and surrendered animals on record. Many are filled to the brim and more. 

Thankfully, your commitment to helping homeless animals gives them the chance to truly thrive. Your generosity makes this possible. You've volunteered your time to gain the trust of animals who have been neglected. You've donated to the basic needs and medical care that nurtures cats and dogs back to health. You've shown heartfelt love for hundreds of animals by fostering, advocating, and adopting. Because of you, 526 pets are safe and sound in their forever homes so far in 2022. You gave these animals everything they needed to thrive.

With a fundraising goal of $65,000, we aim to end this particularly challenging year with all of the resources necessary to nurture each and every sweet face in our care. With every financial donation, you are providing second chances for dogs and cats so they can have the care and nourishment they need.
