Payette Lakes Ski Club Inc

Built in 1937 as a winter diversion for local forest workers, the Little Ski Hill has served the region’s youth and skiing community for 80 years. Located two miles north of McCall, Idaho on highway 55, this small but action-packed facility has an alpine hill served by a T-bar providing 405 vertical feet of terrain, which is the only lit ski and snowboard hill in the area.

The Little Ski Hill annually hosts the "After School Program" for youth in the McCall, Donnelly, and New Meadows areas.  The program consists of snowboard and skiing lessons two days per week for seven weeks.  Transportation to the hill from the local schools is provided, and participants also recieve a season pass to the hill.  This year 146 students participated in the program, with an additional 17 in the Saturday Program.  This past season we handed out 42 full scholarships at $300 each, with an additional 3 partial scholarships.  These scholarships are generated directly through donations to PLSC. 

Just around the corner from the Little Ski Hilll is Bear Basin Nordic Center.  Last season we celebrated Bear Basin's 10th Anniversary.  Wow, it has come a long way from the early days!  Bear Basin is home to over 25 kilometers of groomed trails open to all ages and abilities.  Bear Basin also offers countless trails for snowshoeing and winter fun. Skate ski and classic lessons are available through the Bear Basin Nordic Ski School.  Last season brought a new groomer to Bear Basin thanks to the generous donations of our community and a matching grant from Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation.  This year we are replacing the yurt at Bear Basin with a new mobile structure.  Please consider making a donation toward this new project at Bear Basin.  Some of the best snow and grooming in Idaho make Bear Basin the perfect Nordic destination!
