Payson Multipurpose Senior Center Development Association Inc

1 in 6 seniors are at risk for starvation, malnutrition and depression.  We are committed to reducing this risk through our MEALS ON WHEELS, LUNCH & TRANSPORTATION PROGRAMS.  We also offer a wide variety of social, recreational, information, self-help, exercise fitness and independent living programs. All program services provided are donation based to our seniors and disabled.  While our programs are available to all seniors, the majority of seniors that we serve are low income residents of Arizona. 

 

PRIMARY PROGRAMS:

MEALS ON WHEELS:  We served approx. 36,000 nutritious meals to seniors and disabled annually in the Rim Country or 140 people a day.  Not only do we deliver the meal, we do a wellness check and alert the appropriate party if there is a decline in the person we deliver to.

 

LUNCHES: We serve approx. 11,000 nutritious meals to senior in our dining annually or 40-45 people daily.  During this time of the day there is usually entertainment or an educational speaker.

 

TRANSPORTATION:  We make approx. 9,600 trips annually and about 450 people a month. Our days are filled with our senior and disabled riders going to various medical appointments, the stores and other business establishments.  This program allows many seniors and disabled to remain independent when they are no longer able to drive or lack transportation.  

 

Our motto is Caring, Activities, Resources,Independence, Giving.  Our participants are our family.  We laugh together, share stories, grieve together and help each other.
