Presbyterian Children's Homes and Services (PCHAS) began in 1914 as an orphanage in Farmington, Missouri. Since then, PCHAS has grown into a three-state organization offering a continuum of care that serves an average of 4,500 children and families each year through 12 programs at 39 locations across Missouri, Texas, and Louisiana.
Each day, we witness the struggles of parents striving to keep their families together and children seeking to heal from past trauma. At PCHAS, we look beyond immediate challenges to envision brighter futures.
PCHAS envisions a world where every child is safe, every family is strong, and hope outshines hardship.
We understand that every child, youth, and family's journey is unique, and true healing means addressing the root causes of their struggles, not just the symptoms.
Our approach is rooted in the power of relationship-based healing. Through Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®) and the Strengths Model, we help children and youth process their experiences and build healthy relationships. We also partner with parents, helping them uncover their inherent strengths and develop the skills they need for long-term stability. This work is more than just a service; it's about walking alongside families toward healing and self-sufficiency.
When a child, youth, or family comes to PCHAS, they find more than just services—they find a community that believes in their potential. Our doors are open to all, regardless of background or belief, united by the conviction that every child deserves the chance to thrive.

Behind each number is a child and youth who found stability, a parent who discovered their strength, and a family moving toward a brighter future.
