Peachtree Baseball League of Albemarle Inc

MISSION: The mission of the Peachtree Baseball League shall be to strive to the ideals of fair play, safety and balance among all teams in the league. The league shall operate under the rules of the Babe Ruth League and uphold its philosophy of providing supervised baseball competition, while at the same time keeping the philosophy of Cal Ripken, Jr. in mind.

Our league is growing by leaps and bounds! A steady influx of new families to the Crozet area has greatly increased registration numbers from year to year, and we are faced with growing resource challenges. The Peachtree Board and coaches have not been idle! We are working vigorously with the county to increase field space and add batting cages to existing fields, enabling more practice time and a better experience for the kids.

 

What We've accomplished so far:

Thanks to previous contributions we have been able accomplish a ton. In the 2014 season, we now have 7 fields and 7 batting cages. Your contributions last year helped us to improve them and maintain those facilites. Thanks to 2 huge donors we made massive improvements to 2 of those fields. The Carson Raymond Foundation took what was once an abandoned school yard backstop at Brownsville Elementary and made it a fantastic game field and practice facility (see picture). Holzwarth Field was also dedicated at Crozet Park where an existing field was transformed into a classic baseball field with covered batting cages, audio system, and shaded spectator areas. We cannot stop here. Our primary Upper field at Crozet Park is in need of major renovation and its batting cage is a state of disrepair. We would welcome another large donor to sponsor this renovation, but we can also make some smaller renovations quickly through the fundraising effort this year.

We need your help! While we expect some support from the county and other community organizations, we'll need your help to achieve our goals. New batting cages, replacement netting, rakes, drags, new portable mounds, and new storage sheds are among the list of NEW must-have resources for the spring season.
