Peninsula Music and Arts Society

Peninsula Music and Arts Society (PMAS), founded in 1994, became a 501(c)(3) in 2011. Our mission is to promote the study and appreciation of the creative fields and encourage the “Arts” in the community.

Since 2011,  Peninsula Music and Arts Society has awarded over 35 individual scholarships totaling over $50,000 to students pursuing further education in the arts. We have also donated over $20,000 to more than a dozen like-minded organizations including Poulsbo Community Orchestra, Kitsap Children's Musical Theater, and Jewel Box Theater. We are excited about the opportunity to touch the lives of artists, performers, and art lovers of all ages. We feel it is important to promote the Arts within our communities in Kitsap County.

We are once again providing our supporters an avenue to honor our friend and long-time member, Jacqui Stevenson, who passed away in 2019 due to lung cancer.  In her honor, we established the Jacqui Stevenson Memorial Scholarship Fund and will award a $1,000 scholarship from our Fund.  In addition, this year we are also honoring long time friend and supporter Michael Sorrels, who passed away unexpectedly in 2022,  by awarding the $1,000 Michael Sorrels Memorial Scholarship.  Both scholarships will be awarded to 2023 Kitsap County high school seniors. Our hope is that through Kitsap Great Give, we can augment our scholarship fund and continue to support students in pursuit of their careers in the arts.
