Mission

The theatre's mission is to support, without reservation, the most exciting theatre company possible; to preserve the Theatre in a Garden's natural beauty; to provide artists the freedom, tools, and facilities they require to entertain, uplift, and inform our audience; to foster future generations of theatre professionals through the internship program; and to maintain fiscal policies that insure the future security of the theatre.

Programs

The Peninsula Players Theatre presents a season comprised of five productions performed between late-June and mid-October. In 2006, Peninsula Players opened it's 71st year in a brand new facility on June 20 and ran through October 15. The season included: "Master Class" by Terrance McNally, "Noises Off" by Michael Frayn, "Cabaret" by Kander and Ebb, "The Elephant Man" by Bernard Pomerance, and "The Mousetrap" by Agatha Christie. Peninsula Players is unique among summer theatres not only for its beautiful location and grounds but also for the variety of shows produced each summer. Approximately 38,000 patrons attend productions at the Theatre in a Garden each year. In addition to the theatrical season, Peninsula Players also has a comprehensive intern program. Each year, seven to ten high school graduates have the opportunity to learn from theatre professionals as they work side by side with them in various shops, the box office and rehearsals. The theatre's internship program is recognized by Actor's Equity Association, allowing interns the opportunity to gain Equity Membership Candidate points toward union affiliation. The Players has forged a strong relationship with local high schools and area colleges that helps attract and develop Wisconsin youths interested in theatrical careers.
