Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts

A nonprofit organization

Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts (PMC) is a nonpartisan nonprofit that educates all Pennsylvanians about our courts, provides resources on how to navigate them confidently, and advocates for judicial reforms that promote inclusion and access to justice.

PMC believes that the bright young minds of the next generation deserve access to an enriching civic education in school. Recognizing that every school does not have equal funding or resources for civics, we created our free civic education program, PMC Civics.

PMC Civics offers a comprehensive eight-month civics curriculum for middle and high school students. Our nontraditional approach sets us apart: we bring lawyers and judges into the classroom to speak directly with students. Currently, we are teaching in 15 schools across Philadelphia and its surrounding counties. In addition, PMC Civics hosts a summer internship program that provides students with the opportunity to go behind the bench, meet judges, and experience court firsthand.

How can your support help?

Your support enables us to expand our reach, provide resources to more schools in need, and bring our program to more students across Pennsylvania. By funding our efforts, you’re helping us empower the next generation to become civically engaged in their communities, explore potential legal careers, and create valuable connections with legal professionals.
