People Loving People, Inc

From 2009-2016 the amount of food that we were distributing was serving over 1400 families, individuals, and seniors throughout the year. Since losing our main supplier of food, we have not been able to have the impact that we used to have. Our goal this year is to increase our food quantities so that we can serve to that capacity again. In 2017 we served approximately 300 families. 

Our mission is to love people and to foster self reliance and good stewardship. 

Our hope is that we too are self reliant and so our goal is to build the garden into an urban farm allowing us to be less reliant on outside sources, although it will take a “village” working together to reach this goal. We ask for your support.

People Loving People, Inc. was founded in 2009. The vision of People Loving People, Inc. is big.  Our mission is to love people and to foster self reliance and good stewardship.  

• We hope to do this through our food ministry by recovering nutritious produce and distributing  to those that may not have access to healthy foods. 
• Our garden will play an important roll as we move forward. We hope to build it into an urban farm that allows us to educate, produce food, and be more self reliant ourselves.
• The thrift store allows us to provide much needed items such as: gently used clothing, shoes, blankets, furniture at very low prices. We are able to give these items to people who are in difficult circumstances, whether it be homelessness, loss of a job, substance abuse recovery, etc. We are good stewards of what is given and keep as much out of the landfill as possible.
• Volunteering is a great way to build community. When we work together, we can accomplish a lot. We have many volunteers that work in the store, the food ministry, and the garden. There are a lot of behind the scenes volunteers who pick up food, wash items, hang clothing, move furniture, sort food, plant, tend, and harvest the garden, etc.
