Palisades Emergency Residence Corporation (PERC) has been helping residents of Hudson County, NJ since 1981. The three shelter programs offered provide necessary and unduplicated services: an emergency shelter for adult individuals, an overflow center which also serves as the county’s only wet shelter, and a family shelter – the only one of its kind in Hudson County.

PERC is also the site of Hudson County’s winter emergency shelter.  The soup kitchen and food pantry are serves a hot meal each evening to all who come as well as a weekly food pantry for low-income families.

In 2012, PERC provided over 19,315 nights of shelter for women, men and families, 82,822 meals were served through the soup kitchen and groceries were provided to over 12,000 low-income people through the weekly food pantry.  PERC has also transitioned 46% of shelter guests into permanent housing, far above the national average.

In January of 2012, PERC’s overflow center served 136 unduplicated individuals.

PERC is reaching out to the chronically homeless who are the hardest to serve.

More and more people are seeking our services.  The funds we raise truly have a positive impact on the programs we provide for those who are in need or at risk.
