Pet Pal Rescue Inc

We are a No-Kill shelter.  Pet Pal Animal Shelter has been saving lives since the 1980's and in 2016 alone, we found homes for over 700 animals.  We work closely with other shelters and rescues and respond promptly to pull and transport animals to our no-kill shelter when they are at risk of being euthanized due to time limitations, illness, injuries or lack of socialization and training.  We treat animals with medical conditions ranging from ringworm and upper respiratory infections to cherry eye surgeries and heartworms.   We make every possible effort (with your help) to treat non-terminal ailments such as listed above and more.  Our shelter offers after adoption training by a certified trainer to provide guidance in leadership skills for all family members after adopting.  We also offer affordable full-service Vet Care from Pet Pal Veterinary Clinic located just blocks away from the shelter.  This is another way to help people keep their pets healthy and not have to surrender to a shelter.  We give back to our community.  Pet Pal Thrift Store not only has affordable items for humans and pets, it also helps subsidize the efforts of our shelter, providing much needed funds for our sick and injured animals.   Pet Pal Animal Shelter's staff and volunteers strive to answer every phone call providing information about adoptions, surrenders, events, donations, affordable vet care, and provide the community with multiple animal related resources.  We are compassionate humans who also care and love animals just as much as our concerned callers do.  Our Executive Director is available during the shelter hours of operation and has over twenty years  of experience working with animals in veterinary offices, shelters, and as an animal cruelty investigator.  Something unique about our shelter is that our adoptable cats are not kept in individual kennels.  They are able to roam freely in our adoptable Cat Room so that potential adopters can visit on a more interactive and personal level.  We rely solely on private donations, bequests, and grants.  Unfortunately, the adoption fee does not cover our actual out-of-pocket expenses for surgery, medications, food etc..
