PFLAG Danville / Central Susquehanna Valley

Our Chapter

PFLAG Danville PA was established in 2017 and serves several counties in rural Central Pennsylvania. We provide email support, online resources, a lending library, community education, and confidential peer support groups.  Primarily we support parents and guardians of LGBTQ+ children, but welcome allies, family and LGBTQ+ adults.  Youth benefit when we support their families and work for positive community change.  

Meetings in Danville, Selinsgrove, and online often feature guest speakers including professionals in medicine, education, social service, religion and the arts, as well as members of the LGBTQ+ community and family members who share life experiences and provide education. Other groups offer opportunities for informal sharing, individual support, and opportunities to network and form friendships. We also participate in Pride and other community events, and host occasional social activities. 

Meeting our fundraising goals has allowed us to compensate guest speakers and purchase an additional tent/shelter for our new Selinsgrove group to participate in outdoor events.  We've had a busy year with many guest speakers and groups and participating in community events will continue this year. Additional funding will allow us spread the word about our organization, register for events, and purchase and provide literature and supplies so we can continue to learn, share and reach out.
