Each assistance dog reeives 2 years of training which costs our organization $15,000, from veterinary costs (including extensive health tests to ensure they can work safely), training gear, food, and training.

Clients are only charged $1,000 to receive their assistance dog and we are extremely proud to offer assistance dogs to U.S. military Veterans for $500!

My name is Linzey Zoccola and I am the founder and director of Phoenix Assistance Dogs located in Central PA.  I founded PAD because of my personal experience needing the help of a canine partner.  When I was just 18 months old I was diagnosed with the leading genetic killer of infants, Spinal Muscular Atrophy II.  I beat the odds, and lead a wonderful life as a "dog trainer on wheels".  When I was a freshman in High School I applied for, and received my first assistance dog - my life was never the same.  The confidence that grew from the independence of not needing help to open and close doors, get an out of reach item, and so much more was truly immeasurable.

I founded PAD (a 501c3 federal non-profit) in 2009 and am proud to say that I have 16 highly trained working assistance dogs in 4 states.
