Phoenix Girls Chorus Inc

The mother of Olivia, one of our Harmonia singers, shared this with us:

"Our daughter Olivia loves to sing. Music has always been a constant in our home and such an important part of our lives. This past year, however, it became so much more than that for our family. When my husband was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukemia last April, music became our medicine. It could be heard all the way down the hall from our third floor hospital room during the months of our stay in the cancer unit together.

Olivia is enjoying her second year with the Phoenix Girls Chorus. Though we've never missed a performance, I attended the first concert of this season with hesitation because my husband was too ill to join us. I was exhausted, as my daughter and I came straight from the hospital to the concert hall. I took my seat, caught my breath and was instantly transported, as these beautiful voices began to sing. At that moment, I couldn't imagine a grander place to be. By the winter holiday concert, we were all together. What a milestone for us and what a fitting way to spend our evening, enjoying the music that had been so healing for us all.

The Phoenix Girls Chorus has not only offered a wonderful opportunity for Olivia to share her voice and receive an exceptional music education, it has also provided her with a multitude of sisters who continuously love and inspire her. She adores her teachers and has been grounded by the constant that Phoenix Girls Chorus has provided. There are few guarantees in life, but music is certainly one of those gifts that can be counted on. Being part of something greater than oneself is another."
