Phoenix Rising Equine Rescue Inc

Phoenix Rising Equine Rescue has been part of the North Stonington CT community since 2000.  As a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization, we can dedicate our resources to helping horses.

We provide all our horses with shelter, proper nutrition, veterinary care and lots of love and kindness. 

Each horse who comes to us has her or his own story.  Some are thoroughbred racers; some have spent their lives as riding horses in a school; all are facing certain death without our intervention.

The horses we rescue are usually in need of rehab efforts.  Sometimes that means just having a good diet and lots of love.  Sometimes that means we need to provide extensive medical care and therapy.

No horse is turned away.

Once a horse is rehabbed, we look for a good, permanent home.  We have horses that can't fully recover and they stay with us.  We make sure their lives are safe and secure and full of the attention they deserve.

Besides providing rehab services and care for horses, Phoenix Rising strives to raise public awareness of horse slaughter, abuse and neglect.  We provide training to local schools and the general public.  We also work with local and regional rescues to assist law enforcement in seizing neglected and abused equines.
