Phoenix UPLIFT was born out of an experience of a church named Stewart-Isom Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal (CME) Church located at 1820 Walton St. South, St. Petersburg, FL 33712. On Friday July 23, 2010 @ 5:30 AM an unknown arsonist set ablaze the building's worship center causing major fire, smoke and water damage to the building. Having no insurance protection, the church continues to overcome this fire tragedy.

This is where the need to help fire victims to transition through such tragedies was born and Phoenix Uplift, a 501c3 nonprofit was formed.  Like a Phoenix bird rising up from the fire, we are  Uplifting People Living In Fire Tragedy (Phoenix UPLIFT)!

The aim is to provide help to individuals, families and small businesses in transitioning beyond fire damage through food donations, clothing and shoe replacement, and help in finding transitional housing. We also provide education on fire prevention, provide free fire extinguishers and partner with local fire departments to provide smoke alarms/detectors and more.
