Follow Lyn's Footsteps

Follow Lyn's Footsteps is a charitable Fund established in November 2021 in Partnership with the St. Louis Community Foundation. The fund draws inspiration from its namesake, Lyn Pickel, our mother who passed away in March 2021. It is our hope, that through the fund, Lyn's loving and generous spirit may live on and continue to positively impact the community. When Lyn's life was tragically cut short by cancer, many questions emerged through the grief felt by her family and friends. One question kept coming up over and over again; If Lyn had been given more time, how much more good would she have done? How many more lives would she have positively impacted? How would she have made our community better and stronger? These questions inspired the idea to form this fund as a way for Lyn's friends and family to continue making a difference in the community by following in her footsteps. In doing so, we hope to honor her memory and keep her close to our hearts. We, Lyn's family, thoroughly seek out, interview, visit, and select organizations around St. Louis in need of funding that our mom would have personally had an interested in becoming involved with. Our 2023 grantees were :

4. HumanKIND

FLF continues to maintain strong relationships with our 2023 grantees, but we are always interested in expanding our outreach and support to new, worthy organizations too. Lyn dedicated herself to a diverse array of causes and we believe FLF's mission should reflect that diversity. We are therefore excited to announce that in recent months, FLF has awarded grants to two new and very deserving organizations...

We are proud to report that in 2024, with the generosity of our donors, FLF also continues its support of three existing grantees; The International Institute of St. Louis, The St. Augustine Wellston Center, and The Jacksonville Area Community Food Center.
