Each year, on the second Saturday in July, the organization hosts the Beat Breast Cancer Mud Volleyball Tournament. The 256-team tournament is held in Prague, Nebraska.

The Beat Breast Cancer Mud Volleyball Tournament was established in 2008. The tournament began as a way to help a family affected by breast cancer. Each year a new recipient is chosen to receive the funds. In our first year we registered 37 teams and raised $1,900 for the recipient, Karla Keller (23 years old). In 2009, 64 teams registered and $4,400 was raised for Kristi Perrotto (32 years old), and in 2010 we registered 92 teams and raised an astonishing $7,500 for Jamie Marie Rath (21 years old).

In 2011 we moved the tournament from Abie, Nebraska to Prague, Nebraska. With a larger and more accessible area, the tournament grew to 176 teams. It was the first year we had to shut off registration. We raised $10,000 for Lena Sayles of Omaha, Nebraska. It was estimated that over 2,200 participants and spectators showed up at the event. The tournament also took on a festival atmosphere with a DJ, bands, tents and side games such as giant ladderball. For 2012 we have decided to add four more pits, bringing our pit count to 8 pits. This will allow us to register up to 256 teams.

Along with the new location, a committee of 15 dedicated volunteers with a variety of talents has been formed to ensure that the tournament continues to grow. The Beat Breast Cancer Mud Volleyball Tournament is no longer just a small tournament. We are becoming a full-fledged non-profit organization with tax-exempt status. We have a strategic plan that includes marketing and promotion which will help us continue to grow and raise more money for families affected by breast cancer.
