Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble (PNME)

To present compelling and memorable performances of contemporary music by giving world-class performances, commissioning and premiering new works by living artists, disseminating and promoting new works beyond their premieres through recording and touring, constantly reexamining and exploring the way in which new music is presented, and by playing a leading role in creating and expanding a progressive arts community.

This is core to what we do. Each year we present over 10 concerts at City Theatre on the South Side of Pittsburgh and (throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area) featuring music created by living (or recently deceased) composers, performed by our ensemble of nationally recognized professional musicians. Through these concerts, we reach between 1,000 and 1,400 in live audience, and an additional 70,000 people through radio broadcasts.
