They really connect with students and try their hardest to do more than just teach lessons. They are people who share our struggles and show understanding to each of us.”

 

The exceptional Christ-centered education at Pius X begins with teachers who invest their hearts and lives into the students entrusted to their care. This student-teacher relationship is an important factor that inspires our young adults to become the people for which God created them.

 

Your help is needed to retain our best teachers, recruit additional high-quality faculty, and create a learning environment which can accommodate our ever-increasing enrollment.

 

As educational excellence continues to burst from the campus of Pius X High School, one of our top strategic plan goals is create a wage structure that fairly compensates our teachers. The overall goal is to bring teacher salaries to 90 % aggregate of Lincoln Public Schools. Your gift will move us closer to reaching the goal.

 

More students and faculty shared the classrooms of Pius X in the 2015-2016 school year than ever before in our 60 year history. And next year Pius X’s enrollment is expected to surpass 1,270 students.

 

Along with raising teacher salaries, your donation will create a dedicated space for our teachers who are also new mothers and will allow for portable classrooms to be purchased and furnished. The portable classrooms are a vital step in the process to elevate classroom overcrowding and reduce the number of teachers displaced from their classrooms throughout the school day.

 

The opportunity to secure amazing teachers and offer a high-quality education to the young people in and around Lincoln continues to bear fruit in the academic success of Pius X graduates. The Class of 2015 earned an average score of 24.3 on the ACT exam. Our students continued the tradition of academic excellence in 2016 with approximately 20% of our most recent graduates scoring a 30 or higher on the ACT, including two perfect scores.

 

The generosity exhibited by our parents, alumni, and extended community during previous GTLDs began supporting our push to raise teacher salaries while also remodeling and improving science labs, bathrooms, and the performing arts center. Your tax-deductible gift of any size - $10 or $10,000 - will help us claim a portion of the matching challenge funds and together our community will help Pius X ensure that we adequately compensate our outstanding teachers while continuing to recruit and retain high quality teachers for the future.
