As the families of our beloved Summer Camp participants know, Point Reyes National Seashore Association believes environmental education and healthy outdoor recreation should be part of every child’s life. In 2009, PRNSA established the Young Stewards Youth Scholarship Fund to engage youth who traditionally have little to no access to national parks. In the succeeding 5 years, PRNSA has raised $440,000 in dedicated funds to support scholarships and fee waivers for more than 4,600 underserved youth.

This summer, we are welcoming 54 underserved children to Point Reyes Nature Science Camp (a 5-day, 4-night program featuring naturalist-led expeditions in and around Point Reyes) & Point Reyes Adventure Camp (a 6-day, 5-night wilderness leadership program featuring a naturalist-led backpacking trip in Point Reyes Phillip Burton Wilderness). These children come from San Francisco Bay Area inner cities, rural agricultural areas, and foster homes. Most have never walked along an ocean beach, sat beside a campfire, or slept under the stars. At the end of their stay, they will tell us it was the best week of their lives and that they can't wait to come back next summer.

We are working with Razoo because we need your help to provide camp scholarships and transportation assistance for summer . A generous member of our board of directors has offered a $7,500 match. Now we are reaching out to our community to seek the remaining $7,500 we need for the Young Stewards Youth Scholarship Fund.

54 young lives will be changed at Point Reyes this summer and you can be a part of it! Your donation is tax deductible.
