Pointe West Performances Inc

Pointe West Performances, Inc [PWP] is the 501(c)(3) non profit umbrella for the consortium of artists, who professionally produce original pieces & top flight community engagement/education  under its auspices.  This public charity received its non profit status in 1999 & operates as a production company. The consortium collaborates to produce projects in dance, music, theatre, visual arts, film, improv (flash happenings), lecture demonstrations, and independent choreography.  Professional dance company, Pointillism Jazz Consort [PJC], has a community engagement mission (including scholarship education in dance & the humanities) entitled The Infinite Legacy Project [ILP].  PJC & The ILP produce linked seasons under the PWP umbrella.

Pointillism Jazz Consort dance company is comprised of professional artists from around the globe.  Projects of the company celebrate eclectic expressions in dance, music, theatre, indigenous traditions, film, and other disciplines.  Since 1996 PJC has infused its performances with an array of perspectives, which encourages diverse audience composition. The Infinite Legacy Project educational programming was developed during a 7-year outreach pilot in Akron After School [AAS], starting in 2002.  PWP partners with communities to provide scholarships to its school, The ILP at Westminster.  Through scholarship participation in ILP Mini Companies & Conservatory, AAS students gain meaningful exposure to the training & performance process of professional dance/theatre.  Integral to students' training are humanities disciplines linked with each PJC project (including literature, music, drama, indigenous traditions, ad infinitum) .   Additionally, above-the-ceiling® creative learning  materials link with Pointillism projects to engage and educate audiences - and to inspire extended participation in the arts/humanities. The ILP also serves communities through its Choreography Outreach Initiative (providing seasoned professionals for projects) in the Greater Metro Area of Washington DC (DMV) & Akron/Cleveland OH.

Pointillism Jazz Consort is a member of UNESCO CID, the Counseil de Danse which researches and promotes education in dance and world culture.
