Who is PATA?

 PATA is hundreds of theatre performers, 60+ producing companies, and many arts-related Portland businesses, led by an all-volunteer board.

What does PATA do?

 Since 1987, PATA has been developing the following programs for our members:
 

1) VALENTINE FUND 

The Valentine Fund, which provides financial assistance to members of the Portland-area theatre community in times of need.  Since 1987, PATA has been able to share more than $10,000 with members who have needed support.

2) GENERAL AUDITIONS

A yearly General Audition that puts hundreds of Northwest actors in front of professional and amateur theater companies from across the region. These auditions have given our individual members the chance to be seen by 60+ production companies at once, saving the theatre community both time and money. 

3) FERTILE GROUND  

The unique Fertile Ground Festival that features 10 days of world premieres of nearly 100 new works in the performing arts (dance, comedy, theatre, and more). First presented in 2008, Fertile Ground brings innovative performances to a wide variety of audiences, generating creative opportunities for local play-writes, performers, directors and producers.  

4) PATA WEBSITE

The PATA website and database, which allows members to search for and connect with local theatre professionals, enhancing our members ability to find collaborators, and work.  The website also serves as the primary point of registration for our auditions and workshops.

What will your donation do?

PATA relies on member dues to produce all of our programs. When we are able to raise additional funds, we are able to provide our members with more opportunities.  For example, we are trying to expand PATA’s educational reach to include free workshops for both actors and theatre companies, and we are actively exploring group marketing and promotional discounts to help engage new audiences for our producing companies.
