This Giving Tuesday, we are not only raising money for our future dogs, but for our mission that ALL fosters AND adopters get free training.
We are a dog rescue, doing more than dog rescue.
This training and community support is something we have made it a priority to build into our rescue and a platform we also need to make sure we have funding for.
Is it extra work? Of course.
Do we have to hustle a little bit more because of it? Oh Yah.
Are we doing it because it sets our fosters, adopters, and dogs (in and out of POSO) up for lifelong success? You know it.
Donate today, lets save some dogs & continue to be able to provide our community with the training & resources they need to keep dogs out of the shelters!
Now what you are all here for, some of our amazing dogs that have come through our rescue in 2024…
MEET Rosie:
Rosie a 5 year old Shiba Inu/Husky Mix from a kill shelter in California ended up at the shelter as her owners were not able to afford her vet care. As you can see, Rosie needed to have both eyes surgically removed. Rose came to POSO as sweet as could be, and learned to use her nose and hearing to navigate her way around. She never let her eyes hold her back!
After Rosie had surgery to have her eyes removed, was fully vetted, and recovered! She was adopted by an amazing family in Northglenn, CO where she has a black lab brother!
Rosie's Vet Costs: $4,200
Meet Brady & Atlas:
Brady and Atlas only new pain and suffering in their brief first 5-months of life. POSO Dog Rescue was contacted to save these puppies, who, along with a third sibling, suffered unimaginable cruelty. They were poisoned with rat poison by malicious individuals who sought to end their lives. If that wasn’t enough, the fragile pups then endured electrocution from a live wire. Fortunately, a compassionate bystander intervened just in time, rushing the puppies to an emergency veterinarian.
Despite this timely intervention, the puppies were not out of danger. Their small bodies had been through immense trauma, facing not only the severe effects of poisoning but also the critical damage from electrocution. Medical bills quickly escalated to a staggering $9,500 for POSO but the brothers showed us they wanted to fight. The puppies made a full recovery after multiple blood and plasma transfusions and were ready to be adopted!
The puppies were adopted by amazing families who are close, so they regularly get to see each other!
Brady & Atlas Vet costs: $10,000
Meet Diego:
Diego was found tied up on a rooftop, abandoned, and left to suffer in the Mexico heat. The scene that was discovered was nothing short of horrifying—a rooftop littered with maggots, rotting food, and moldy water, and in the center of it all, Diego, with a neck wound so severe that it was slowly killing him. Despite this, Diego fought to survive, enduring countless dressing changes and multiple surgeries in Mexico, each one a battle to save his life. By some miracle, Diego made it through the worst of it, and with the help of our compassionate network, he was brought to Colorado to continue his treatment and find a forever home with our help.
He is now searching for his forever home through POSO Dog Rescue! If you are interested check out his full profile: PosoDogRescue.com
Diego's Vet Bills: $4000
MEET Clyde:
Clyde a 3 year old stray husky from Texas who ended up at an overcrowded Texas Kill shelter covered in poop matted fur, fleas, had worms, and was heart worm positive. He even struggled to walk due to the matted fur.
Clyde was treated for heart worms, vetted, and groomed and made a full recovery!
Clyde was adopted by an amazing family in Castle Rock, CO where he has multiple animal siblings & an amazing mom who loves him!
Clyde's Vet Costs: $3,000
MEET Ripley:
Ripley a 1 year old husky from a kill shelter in Los Angeles, California who had a rough start to life. She ended up on the euth list with missing fur and was just skin & bones.
Ripley was vetted, fixed, and with the amazing love of her foster mom she put on the weight she needed!
Once she fully recovered she was adopted by a family from New Mexico where she enjoys hiking and playing fetch!
Ripley's Vet Costs: $3,900
MEET Toast & Waffles
Toast & Waffles were 4 Month Old puppies who were part of a neglect case in Arkansas. They were living outside with no shelter and seized along with multiple other dogs.
The young resilient puppies were ready for a fresh start, who have both been adopted in Colorado and are living the inside dog life!
Toast & Waffles Vet Costs: $1,100 each
MEET Travis:
Travis a 4 year old yellow lab retriever was found locked in a bathroom after his owner has passed away. It was estimated that Travis had been in the bathroom for 1-2 weeks with no food or water.
It was clear Travis was a loving family dog prior to his owners passing. Once Travis arrived at POSO he recovered and gained back the weight he lost while locked in the bathroom and was then adopted in Lakewood, CO!
