The Positively Powerful Development Corporation is dedicated to empowering women by providing aspirational and transformational opportunities in leadership, entrepreneurship, education, training, wealth building, and community impact. 

By honoring the need for solutions that are inclusive, unifying opportunities for all, we will foster access to resources, mentorship, and platforms for innovation so that more women can drive positive change, nurture positive mindsets for success, and shape a more inclusive and sustainable future for women and girls. 

Our focus on empowering women is essential. When women thrive, communities thrive. By creating a world where women have equal access to opportunities and resources, we unlock their full potential, leading to broader innovation, stronger economies, intergenerational wealth, and a more just and equitable world for everyone. We intend to serve the greater good by prioritizing the needs of women and girls, recognizing that their advancement is inextricably linked to the progress of all.

Igniting a Legacy of Empowerment: How Our Dream Took Flight

For over fifteen inspiring years, the vision to empower women has blossomed into the impactful nonprofit you see today. This journey began with a spark ignited by our founder, Dr. Joel P. Martin, the heart-driven President of Triad West, Inc., a respected global leader in training, coaching, and leadership development headquartered in Arizona.

Along with a dedicated team of passionate business owners, insightful knowledge experts, generous sponsors, and engaged community leaders, Dr. Martin embarked on a mission to uplift and transform. Together, they launched an array of educational and leadership initiatives. Among them, the Positively Powerful Education Summits and Woman Awards Conference emerged as a testament to our core belief: "Celebrating the achievements of women empowers everyone to pursue their dreams and builds a brighter future for themselves and their communities." This prestigious Stevie Award-winning endeavor laid the essential groundwork for the enduring nonprofit program we are so proud of.

Our commitment extended to engaging the community through public Conversations on Leadership Events, fostering growth within organizations through corporate transformational leadership trainings, sharing wisdom through insightful guest speaker webinars, nurturing personal rejuvenation at empowering women's retreats, and, most recently, the Inaugural Positively Powerful Women's Retreat pilot held in January 2025. 

With the guidance of five inspiring speakers, an overwhelming 90% of our cherished guests affirmed that the Retreat's goal – to "Retreat to Revitalize, Rejoice, Renew, Reconnect with Your Magnificence and Reinvent" as we stepped into 2025 – was beautifully realized. 100% of the attendees were enthusiastic about recommending the Retreat to others. We thank all our incredible Legacy Leaders who participated in this pivotal pilot.

For fifteen remarkable years, these initiatives have been a vibrant celebration of women's educational, community leadership, and business accomplishments and a source of empowerment for countless individuals. This rich history, fueled by passion and purpose, has now beautifully culminated in the creation of this vital nonprofit, ready to make an even more significant impact.

It's our distinct honor to introduce the dedicated Board of Directors of the Positively Powerful Development Corp. This exceptional group of women leaders is the driving force behind our mission to empower women through transformational opportunities in leadership, entrepreneurship, education, training, wealth building, and community impact. 

• Dr. Joel P. Martin, President and Founder of Triad West, Inc., Transformational Leadership Developer, Author, and Speaker; 
• Jackie Wszalek, Entrepreneurial, Creative Resources, and Community Engagements, past President of NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners) and of NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction);
• Rev. Sheriolyn Curry Hodge, a Presiding Elder of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, the owner of several Comfort Keeper businesses, and Charter Member and Treasurer of 100 Black Women of Arizona; 
• Marquetta Glass, owner, MGS Innovations Group, Strategic Business Consultant, Cultural Equity, Executive Coach, Speaker, and visionary Hallmark marketing director who created the Maya Angelou Mosaic line of cards and products.
