Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows

The mission of the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows is to enhance the quality of life for children, ages 6 to 18, in the Truckee Meadows. We are committed to creating healthy children, in body and mind, with a sense of competence, usefulness, responsibility, belonging and influence through diverse programs and community involvement. Since our founding in 1976, the Club has grown from a single site serving a few dozen youth to 20 sites around the Truckee Meadows serving more than 11,000 youth each year. This includes our primary site at East 9th Street as well as sites hosted in 12 schools, four teen centers, our Neil Road and Lemmon Valley youth sites and our Early Learning Program at the E.L. Wiegand Youth Center.

Our Club boasts nearly 130 different programs, events and activities to meet the diverse needs and interests of our members.  These programs fall under five core areas: Character & Leadership Development; Education & Career Development; Health & Life Skills; the Arts; and Sports, Fitness & Recreation. In an effort to keep our services as affordable as possible, Club membership costs just $20 per year, even though we invest more than $500 annually into each of our members.
