Pouches of Love

  " You will never do anything in this world without courage.  It is the greatest quality of the mind next to honor." (Aristotle)  Pouches of Love Organization seeks to provide that courage for those ostomates that need the extra boost of courage after unforeseen health circumstances augment their lives.  Founded in September of 2019 after the need for localized assistance became apparent to the founder that some ostomates could be struggling to deal with the new life style.  

       An ostomate is a person that has had severe health issues that  resulted in surgeries removing vital organs and leaving them with an ileostomy, colostomy, or urostomy. There are many illnesses that can cause this life, it was Crohn's Disease for the founder of Pouches of Love.    There are an estimated 500,000 patients with stomas in the US, some of which have insurance that does not completely cover the cost of the monthly supplies, and some that do not have insurance at all.  These daily supplies can cost at least $500.00 a month depending on the patient or the ostomy.  This can wreak havoc on any household.

      Pouches of Love is also set-up to assist with any counseling needed for transition to ostomy life or just simple daily living with and ostomy. Pouches of Love has a board certified therapist Tayona Fraylon to assist with these needs.  This service is for those with a solid support foundation or for those without and the cost is covered by this organization.  Thus highlighting the need for supportive donations so that Pouches of Love can extend it's services to ostomates near and far in need of these supplies or counseling.
