Power Paws is dedicated to meeting the needs of children and adults with disabilities including mobility impairment, deafness/hearing loss and Type 1 Diabetes by providing clients access to and placement with highly skilled and trained assistance dogs.

Power Paws breeds our own service dogs, going back three generations to ensure their health and temperament.  Our instructors work with volunteers to train the dogs in over 90 behaviors throughout the maturity of the dog (18 months). Power Paws' staff screens prospectivve clients, selectively matches them with a dog and then works intensively with the client/dog team to ensure a successful match.  Once a good match is determined, Power Paws places the dog with the client and monitors them for six months. After successful completion, the team receives Certification to work together. Power Paws provides free follow-up training over the lfietime of the dog.

Power Paws became a fully accredited voting member of Assistancde Dogs International (ADI) in 2011.  We are the only assistance dog program in Maricopa County accredited by Assistance Dogs International (ADI) and one of 92 ADI programs worldwide.

Power Paws Assistance Dogs lead people to a higher level of functioning and self-sufficiency at home, in school and within the community.  Power Paws empowers people to independence!

Your kind donation helps us achieve our mission and supports the care and training of Power Paws' assistance dogs.
