Praisin Jesus Feeding Ministries

Our mission is to "feed" people spiritually, physically, and mentally, by: • Touching hearts with the love of Jesus by serving where God leads us. • Feeding with the Good News of Jesus Christ to help people to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. • Meeting physical needs (food, clothing, housing, etc.) with the resources God provides for us and teaching individuals how to be self-sufficient.

This ministry was born out of a desire God placed on the hearts of Chris and Cindy Meilleur while on a mission trip. They felt called to remote areas of Central America to feed the bodies, minds, and souls of people in need. This vision grew to become Praisin' Jesus Feeding Ministries, in which they have served with teams to places in Central America that most would deem unreachable.

We have served with teams in Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. In each country, we have been able to build houses, feed the hungry, develop clean water systems, provide education, and most importantly, share the gospel.
Praisin' Jesus Feeding Ministries strives to share the gospel in a variety of unique ways. Children are able to grasp the salvation message when we give them bracelets that are in colors specifically designed to help them remember the gospel message in a very simple way. (The colors are BLACK, RED, WHITE, GREEN and GOLD.) The colors help the parents to remember the message as well!

We also serve seniors in the Greater New Orleans area through Seniors With A Testimony (SWAT). Since the pandemic, we recognize how isolated seniors have been. They have stayed inside, not enough sunlight, not eating healthy food, not taking their medication, or even being fearful of keeping their doctor appointments. Recently we had a drive-by lunch in which the seniors thoroughly enjoyed. We are planning another one in May and hopefully in June a lunch and movie event. Our plan is to have a monthly get-together for SWAT. We already have annual flu shots for them, and want to help those that want to, get the COVID vaccine.

Testimonials

An important part of the various PJFM mission trips is to build houses as the materials and manpower are obtained. PJFM has built houses, provided clean water and food, and shared the gospel to men, women and children. Another important facet of the mission trips is to educate leaders so that when the mission team leaves, the work can continue. When we build a house from the ground to the roof, the cost is $3,000.00.

One unique story occurred on a recently constructed house. While the doors were being painted green, a little boy who had just learned the significance of the color green said "Green is growing closer to God!" What a huge blessing to see that what had just been taught had already taken "root" in this little boy's life!

We always bring trash bags with us to teach the parents and children in Central America about keeping what God gave us, His beautiful creation, clean and trash-free. On the day we were leaving, we went by the new house one more time on our way to the airport and saw a sign nailed to a tree across the street from the house. It read "NO LITTRNG PLEAZE!" Another little blessing of seeds being planted! Thank you Lord!!

With donated resources, we partner with ministries in Central America that can help us build bunk beds for families that sleep on dirt floors. When each family member has their own bed, it creates a healthier environment for the family. To build a set of single bunk beds complete with mattresses, pillows and linens costs $250.00.

We also team up with ministries that help us build clean-air stoves with vents to keep soot from circulating in the home. Before receiving their new stoves, these families would cook in a hole in the dirt floor and soot from the smoke would cover everything in their humble shack. Having the new clean-air stove helps the family members avoid sickening breathing issues. The parts to build these stoves, including the vent, costs $150.00.
