PROBLEM: On December 14, 2012 a 20-year-old former student entered Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, shooting and killing 26 people while wounding 2 others. Twenty of the victims were children between six and seven years old. The other six were adult staff members. At the time, the shooting was the second-deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history, behind the 2007 shooting at Virginia Tech in which a gunman killed 32 students and teachers and wounded 17 others. On November 5, 2017 a gunman entered the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, killing 26 people, including an unborn child, and wounding 22 others. It is the deadliest church shooting in U.S. history. Sadly, many more shootings occurred after these heinous acts and unfortunately more will happen in the future (see our STATS page).

SOLUTION: The Prime Protection Foundation (PPF) is a response to the anger many feel about the rise of shootings in schools and places of worship. It provides a form of action that can be taken to assuage the feelings of grief and helplessness experienced after each senseless attack. To provide significant help, PPF addresses a key issue: With their already strained budgets, schools and places of worship typically can’t afford to purchase the various safety products they need. Funding them is where PPF can do the most good.

PPF dedicates its efforts to providing life-saving products and services at no cost to schools, places of worship and other venues where gun violence might occur. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, PPF uses tax-deductible donations and grant proceeds to provide tools that can be used to prevent or reduce the harm done by gun violence.
