The Privilege Institute (TPI) (501.c3), founded in early 2014 by *Dr. Eddie Moore, Jr.; provides supportive, educational, and challenging space for REAL conversation. TPI offers multiple opportunities for advocates of peace, equity and justice to; learn Moore, enhance their work/research by providing challenging workshops, engaging speakers, and a range of educational opportunities and resources on issues of privilege, power and leadership, globally.
- The Privilege Institute’s annual White Privilege Conference (WPC). Known for over 20 years as a top national and international conference moving beyond dialogue into action around diversity, power, privilege and leadership. TPI develops and sustains collaboration grounded in the essential ideals of the White Privilege Conference (WPC): Understanding, Respecting, and Connecting. - Further expanding the reach of the White Privilege Conference domestically, in 2014 TPI developed the White Privilege Symposium (WPS) model. Symposiums typically take place on a Friday night, and all day Saturday. Think “mini-version” of the WPC. Consider hosting in your area!
- TPI publishes “Understanding and Dismantling Privilege” an interdisciplinary journal focusing on intersectionality and all aspects of privilege (racism, sexism, heterosexism, ableism, etc.), bridging academia and practice, highlighting activism, and offering a forum for action and accountability on issues of inequity, power and privilege.
- Diversity Leadership Institute & Moore, DLI Summer Camp. Participants are provided with practical skills, tools and strategies for addressing complex and challenging issues related to diversity, power, privilege and equitable leadership. Camp staff includes counselors from diverse backgrounds, college campuses and youth organizations. This camp is committed and focused on inspiring, challenging, informing and equipping young people with the skills to be the world leaders of tomorrow all while they engage in fun, creative, interactive activities and build friendships that will last a lifetime. - Diversity University: DU employs a unique “traveling conference” model that visits various areas of the country to train local and national businesses, educators & community members. The program incorporates tailor-made diversity training through user-friendly, yet effective sessions that are virtually guaranteed to shift paradigms within a short space of time.
- Global Travel (new for 2022). Travel is the ultimate learning experience. In a world where students can text or “friend” in the next room or halfway across the world, the possibilities for connection are endless. What makes our study-abroad programs unique is that our students experience culture and history in the deeper context of African or European business practices, foreign politics, economics, policy making, education & Moore!
