Welcome to The Priyanka Foundation, an award-winning nonprofit organization that is changing the lives of hospitalized children and their families around the world.
Our inspiration came from an 8-year old girl named Priyanka, who traveled to her mother’s native India while in remission from leukemia treatment in Minnesota. This remarkable girl soon recognized that children in India did not receive the compassionate care that she enjoyed in the United States. She lost her battle with cancer, but her family and friends---filled with gratitude for Priyanka's Minnesota caregivers--started this foundation to honor her and help children like her.
Thanks to the generosity of thousands, we are raising awareness and understanding of the special needs of chronically and terminally-ill children, and helping them experience their childhoods despite their conditions. We have served almost 5000 children with 9,500 child life sessions at Manipal Hopital Bangalore, India, part of Manipal Healthcare System a 15 hospitals, nine primary-care clinics, and 55 community health programs with 3,700 beds and 1100 doctors.
We are passionate about delivering Child Life services worldwide. Our innovative approach starts with understanding the cultural and organizational obstacles in other countries, and introducing the Western method to them. Our experienced educators, doctors, and specialists prepare these children for their diagnosis and we help them feel safe, confident, respected, and loved.
What do we need? Forward thinkers and socially responsible investors who share our passion for helping kids. We hope you are one of those special people and look forward to hearing from you--the sooner the better for all these special children.
