Project Enduring Peace (PEP) is a women-energized grassroots movement committed to transforming the global assumption that war is inevitable. We believe war is avoidable—not a permanent feature of human society—and that lasting peace can be built when people create systems, norms, and institutions that make violence unnecessary and cooperation possible. Our mission is to help the world imagine, and then demand, a different future: one in which nations resolve conflicts without resorting to war.
PEP draws inspiration from historical and contemporary peace systems—societies that sustained long periods of stability through shared values, collective decision-making, and structures that discouraged violence. These real-world examples prove that enduring peace is not a dream but a strategic choice. Our work focuses on bringing this knowledge to the public, challenging militarized thinking, and showing that alternatives to war already exist.
At the heart of our mission is a bold and essential goal: to build a global constituency calling for a modern, binding international treaty that ends war as an accepted tool of national policy. To support this, PEP is hoping to gather 100,000+ signatures on a petition to the United Nations urging the General Assembly to begin developing a new framework for international peace—one grounded in accountability, cooperation, feminist principles, and the shared security of all peoples. Please read and sign at https://www.change.org/ProjectEnduringPeacePetition.
Our efforts take many forms. We host Peace Treaty Petition Parties that bring communities together for political education and collective action. We produce educational videos, materials, and social content that make peace systems understandable and accessible. To learn more, please visit our website www.projectep.org to view our 17-minute video “Ending War is Possible, Here’s How and Why”.
We partner with women’s groups, youth networks, educators, peace organizations, and global influencers to grow a diverse, worldwide movement for structural peace. Every aspect of our work is designed to empower ordinary people to participate in shaping a world where war is no longer inevitable, expected, or tolerated.
PEP is a fiscally sponsored project of the Peace Development Fund, making all contributions tax deductible. Your support strengthens a movement working toward a safer, more just, and more peaceful world—not only for today, but for all generations to come.
For all children. For all time. No more war!
