Project X LB

Our History

At Project X LB, we're committed to creating tangible, immediate impacts in the lives of our community members. Through our *Loads of Kindness* program, we’ve washed over 5,000 loads of laundry and provided essential services to more than 320 individuals. This program, which began as a response to the growing need for clean clothing among students and families, has already transformed the lives of many in Long Beach.

But we’re not stopping there.

We’re expanding our reach by installing washers and dryers in elementary and middle schools throughout the area. This will enable even more students to access the resources they need to attend school regularly, without the barrier of dirty clothes or hygiene issues. We expect to see these numbers grow dramatically as we support children from a young age, reducing absenteeism and empowering them to thrive in their education.

Organizer Background/Experience

Marcus Hobbs is a dedicated Long Beach native who is passionate about the improvement of his community. As a proud graduate of CSULB, he combined his academic background with his unwavering commitment to serving Long Beach. Marcus has honed his leadership skills as a graduate of Leadership Long Beach. He is the visionary founder of Project X LB, an initiative born from a deep dedication to community improvement. He currently studies Social Work at Howard University .

Offering support to seniors by ensuring access to clean and well-maintained clothing for comfort and confidence.

Empowering students to focus on their education by providing clean and presentable attire.

Individuals with Special Needs and Accommodations:

Promoting inclusion and care by easing the burden of laundry for disabled individuals.
