Project Next

Mission: Project Next helps high school students plan and prepare for their future - the future that's best for them. 

We aim to open students’ eyes to the many pathways out there—from college to trade school to the workforce—and help them choose and pursue the one that fits them best, so they can move into the real world with confidence.

High schoolers in our community need your help. Too many students graduate and walk into a future they’re not ready for—or didn’t even choose. They can easily find themselves on a path with reduced career opportunities, lower wages, and/or poor personality fit. Socioeconomically disadvantaged students, first-generation college students, and students of color are often disproportionately affected due to access and participation barriers.

You’ll help thousands of students plan and prepare for their next chapter. We serve two local districts with 8,400 high school students—and have the capacity to work with them all each school year.

You’ll support our empowering programs, services, and events. From helping students find their strengths and interests to teaching them how to write resumes and interview, we help high schoolers navigate it all. Your contribution will directly fund our efforts.

You’ll help them see what’s possible—in their lives and in our local community. Many students simply aren’t aware of all the options available to them, including the ones right here in San Diego. Whether you give money, your time, or your expertise, you’ll help open their eyes to the opportunities they have in their backyard and beyond.

Thanks to you, local students will go from uncertain to unstoppable. Our students leave high school with practical tools they don’t teach in school, like interview skills and professional contacts. But the best part? The sheer confidence they gain along the way. It’s an incredible gift to give any young adult about to step into the “real world.”
