Children's Health Advocacy Intnl: Project Somos

The Project Somos Children’s Village is a nurturing educational community for at-risk Indigenous children in Guatemala. In Guatemala, education is not free. Families living in poverty cannot afford to send their children to school and child labor is common. 

Project Somos provides education to these children so that they can lead their families out of poverty. We provide workshops in capacity building; parenting, hygiene and women’s health/family planning to the parents, as part of our outreach programming. 

The Village is made up of a learning campus, a playground and ropes’ course, an organic farm, clinic, community hall and guest facilities within the small Kaqchikel community of Chivarabal in the Central Highlands of Guatemala.
