Founded in 1963, PRS is a community-based 501(c)(3) organization that provides intensive skills training, supportive counseling and positive behavioral supports so that men and women living with mental illness, emotional and/or behavioral disorders achieve personal wellness, recovery and community integration.  We serve adults and transition-age youth in Northern Virginia living with serious forms of mental illness (such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder or major depression), substance use disorders, mild intellectual disabilities, pervasive developmental disorders or any combination of these.  Our services help clients work toward independence, stay out of the psychiatric hospital, maintain their housing and avoid homelessness, and connect with essential community resources.
