Nederland Elementary PTA

The Nederland Elementary School Parent Teacher Association (NESPTA) is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization that supports the students and staff of Nederland Elementary School. We directly support staff and students, planning various educational and recreational experiences throughout the year. This programming is created with our physical surroundings in mind, and encourages a love and appreciation of nature--we want our students to be stewards of the land they recreate on. All NESPTA programs support our staff and students' well-being and education while also encouraging skill-building and physical activity.  

Our school population is made up of about 30% free and reduced lunch families, and all supplemental activities are planned to ensure that there are no barriers, financial or otherwise, that will keep a student from participating. 

In the 2022-23 school year, our PTA was able to enhance various unique outdoor experiences for our students, and support for staff, which included:

1) Facilitation of overnight outdoor education trips for our 3rd-5th graders to Camp Cheley and Cal-Wood

2) Direct partnership with Wild Bear Nature Center to offer 'Snow School' days for our Kindergarten-2nd graders

3) Direct partnership with Eldora Mountain Resort to get all primary grades out on skis or snowboards for 2 full days of private group lessons;

4) Direct partnership with Single-track Mountain Bike Adventures (SMBA) to introduce and/or enhance skillset of 3rd-5th graders on mountain bikes.  

5) Contributions to grade level field trips for Pre-K through 5th Grade.

6) Awarding various classroom teacher and specialist grants

7) Providing breakfasts, lunches and dinners regularly throughout the year to support school staff. 

This year, we have high hopes to both continue this programming and further individualize it to our mountain community. We heavily rely on donations from our families and the public to make this happen for our kids, and need any and all support to make this a sustainable program for our kids.
