Putnam Museum

The Putnam Museum exists to preserve, to educate and to connect.  We seek to preserve our regions treasures entrusted to us over six generations, to educate in unique and lasting waysthrough innovative and engaging experiences and to connect people to thoughts and ideas from across time and around the globe.  Above all, we seek to reach our visitors and to expand their horizons; introducing new possibilities and inspiring ideas both big and small.

We are committed to our mission and, as such, believe that we must continually evolve to best serve our visitors, many of whom are the youth of our region.  We believe that it is our responsibility, as members of the community, to actively seek to meet the needs of those who surround us. 

With these drivers in mind, the Putnam Museum, is seeking to undergo a repurposing project that will change the face of the museum and allow us to develop into our most relevant current state as both a museum of history and culture and the region’s leading science center, highlighting concepts and careers in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
