In 2003, illness began to take over Tina's family & finances.  At the moment when she felt her world had collapsed, she fell to her knees in submission to God.  Not only did God send help, but Putting Prayers to Action was formed.

Tina & her husband Bryan operate Putting Prayers to Action.  Her & her family found themselves in an unfamiliar place.  They were a two-income family that had saved for the future.  Then their oldest son, Trace, became ill.  He had a kidney disorder and endured 11 surgeries and multiple procedures.  Tina had to quit her management job to take care of her son.  In three months, their finances were drained and their insurance company had canceled their health coverage.  Then the family found out Trace's disorder was genetic.  Testing revealed Tina's husband, Bryan and their younger son, Brennen, both had the disorder.  Worry & grief began to consume her.  "As a mother I have to be the rock and foundation for my children's day to day existence and as a wife I felt a need to shield my husband from the grief & heartache by carrying the burden for both of us."

Because of pride they began to withdraw from their friends, family & church, not wanting people to know how bad things really were.  They had never needed help before and were now facing the reality of losing everything.  Their family had been placed on every prayer list at all the local churches.  One night a pastor who did not know her family called.  He told Tina, God had led him to pray for her and her family.  In the middle of the night he came to their house to pray with them.  It was then she realized someone was doing more than just saying they would pray for them.  Someone was putting prayers to action for their family.  Soon after she went to the kitchen to fix something to eat and realized all she had was enough peanut butter for one sandwich.  Tina felt like a failure.  She said, "I couldn't kiss these boo-boos away and couldn't comfort my husband or put food on the table."

She fell to her knees and confessed to God that she couldn't do this on her own.  Before she got off her knees there was a knock at the door.  Some ladies from the family resource center at her son's school were there with two food boxes.  The ladies also brought her money that they had collected.  After they left she counted it, it was exactly what she needed to save her house.  Tina stated, "Only God can do this."

During her trials, she began to cling to a biblical passage, Phillippians 4:6-7.  Through her experience she realized she had to go through her own hardships to equip her to see the hurting in others.  "Before my hardship I could only sympathize with others, but now I feel empathy with them," Tina said.

The family gives all Praise and Glory to God for the healing that the family has seen.  Not one, but all three were healed in Jesus Name.

Since 2005, God has allowed the family to help individuals in 23 counties in Kentucky.  They average in assisting over 1,000 families a month.  The ministry helps the homeless in Kentucky, Indiana & Tennessee.  They organize mission trips  and provide help to the filling areas:  Eastern Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia & West Virginia.  They also provide disaster relief assistance when God says GO &  where they are needed.  Putting Prayers to Action acts as a food bank to area soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters & other outreach agencies.

In today's economy, the family has notice an increase of those in need, and many are people who have never had to ask for help before.

Putting Prayers to Actions home office is in Big Clifty and their warehouse is located next door to their home office in Big Clifty.  They are a 501c3 organization, totally ran by donations they receive.  They are not funded by any other organization or church.  Tina states, "This is God at Work!"

From their warehouse, they load their trailers with items to go to a location to help or ministries come to the warehouse to pickup for their monthly distribution.  One of the amazing things the family has noticed is that after they have helped provide for a ministry, the ministry will often return the help by providing things to restock their shelves.  It's a continual circle of helping one another & sharing Christ's Love.

As God continues to grow the ministry & enlarge their territory donations & support is always needed.

YOU CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE!
