8th Grade Student:

Middle School Student, Annie:

“These kids used to bother me for like 2 years, since 4th grade.  They haven’t made fun of me, and one of them even helped me carry my books when I was dropping them all over the place.”

High School Student:

“Today I used my active bystander skills.  There was a woman outside screaming for help as her drunk ‘homie’ was hitting her.  As soon as I came out of the house, the dispute was over, but the woman was still terrified.  We called the cops and I gladly waited for their arrival.  She thanked me a bunch and stated that if I wouldn’t have come out, she could have been killed.  This experience made me feel really good about myself; especially because I was trained to provide assistance. Thanks to our wonderful tab trainers for their helpful training.”

High School Vice-Principal:

In the eight years we have had the TAB program suspensions have gone from 2,000 per year to 100.  The students take care of most problems themselves.

Mediator & Veteran: 

I think every veteran’s director should be taking this course. It got me to understand, when I’m talking to a vet, that there are two sides to the story. It taught me how to talk to the veterans and to really talk to a parent or a spouse, to understand what is really going on. A lot of people don’t really listen. They’re eager to move on.
