Queercraft is a support network and virtual sanctuary for youth and young adults within the LGBTQ+ community, creating a space where members of these communities and their allies can socialize and congregate in safe, affirming environments.

Our 24/7 moderated chat rooms are a lifeline for LGBTQ young people seeking advice, peer support, and friendship during times of loneliness. Likewise, Queercraft’s moderated voice chat channels offer a way to access supportive connection from anywhere in the world. Interaction with other LGBTQ folks who face similar struggles is a highly effective remedy to the feelings of loneliness and isolation that this population commonly faces.

Beyond what peer support can offer, Queercraft is partnering with mental health counselors to best identify when some members are most at risk, and to recommend professional care. A queer-friendly setting, accessible privately online, is a place where this population feels secure to seek out critical mental health services to which they frequently lack access.

Through Queercraft’s online programming, members listen to and participate in queer-affirming activities, live discussions, and enriching art and music relevant to the LGBTQ community. All of our activities are monitored by a team of volunteers dedicated to maintaining a safe space.

“When I first joined Queercraft, I wasn’t in the best place. I was going through a lot of things by
myself basically, but I saw a community that was so close and loving, and I felt like it was a home
to me. I feel as if this was a place I could be me. I hope to keep this connection I’ve made with all
these people for a very long time. Queercraft is my support.”

Angel, 17, New Jersey

“When I joined QC I was lost, in a bad state, questioning gender. I had no friends,
I was being bullied at school, and QC has helped me through all of this. QC has helped me
gain confidence so much. I am now in one of the best schools in greater London. Thank you QC.”
Avesta, 14, England

“Queercraft is home. For me and many others, Queercraft is a place to escape to on a bad day
and hang out with our greatest friends. Without Queercraft, I would not have gained the
confidence and friendships I have now, I probably wouldn’t have come out, and I wouldn’t have
been able to receive the Live Out Loud Youth Trailblazers scholarship, which is helping me pay
for college. If the Queercraft community means as much to you as it does to me, please donate.”

Robin, 17, New York

“QC is my family and home. They have always been there for me in the best and worst of times. I
can’t thank them enough for taking care of me all this time, and I don’t know what I could do
without each and every one of you from member to owner, but the community is amazing.”
Cindy, 16, Washington

“Ever since I joined QC in 2012, it has always been my second family and my safe haven.”
Chandler, 17. Virginia

“I am old. I am of the generation of gay people who came of age before the internet was
widespread and after the plague wiped out the previous generation. One of my first distinct
memories as a gay adult was sitting in a group of other gay people in a church group and each of
us admitting if we had attempted suicide as teenagers. Almost half had. None of us dared to
wonder aloud about all those like us who attempted suicide and succeeded. Queercraft gives me so
much hope that the next generation will never be alone like I was.”

Lilli, 45, Washington DC
