RISE Montana

The goal of RISE is to teach the youth in the community of Livingston and surrounding areas how to succeed by offering opportunities to develop healthy support systems and identify and address personal challenges. We are working to help children discover individual qualities and empower themselves to use their qualities in ways that lead to success. RISE offers research-based programs for all ages which advance the success of our youth.

Founded in August, 2016, the mission of RISE is to empower children at their most vulnerable by offering opportunities and fostering connection. RISE supports academic success, thriving social relationships and productive futures. To this end, it has established a community center in downtown Livingston.

Suicide Prevention and Crisis Response Program has established strong relationships within the local school district and mental health professionals. Rise has a 24/7 crisis line that provides crisis intervention, with licensed mental health professionals, that are available onsite, at the school and through crisis calls or text. In the past two years, Rise has responded to over 200 calls or onsite crisis for youth. Rise trains and educates students in our local schools through evidence-based curriculums, such as SOS (Signs of Suicide) and ACT (Acknowledge, Care and Tell).

As well as our 24/7 crisis hotline, Rise also responds to in person calls that come from the public schools outside the crisis line. Licensed mental health professionals will provide in-person crisis support for these individuals to minimize disruption to their school day and aid in continuation of care. During times of crisis, weekly grief and support groups are offered free of charge to any youth, parent, family, and/or business which are led by licensed mental health clinicians.

During the Coronavirus pandemic, we have been supporting the youth in our community by cooking and delivering food to those experiencing food insecurity. Because so many students rely on their perspective school for proper meals, COVID-19 left a huge hole in the community where these children are no longer able to access healthy and filling meals. We will continue this program as the pandemic further impacts the youth in our community.
