Research has proven the effectiveness of Big Brother Big Sister mentoring as a prevention strategy.
A child in our program had this to say about his “Big Couple” (a husband and wife who mentor a single child) as mentors:
“They were more than Bigs to me. They were teachers, they were parents, but most of all, they were friends. They helped me become who I am today. They’ve helped my family become what it is today. I can only hope to be as great as they are when I have children or a Little of my own. I love them for everything they have done and all I can really say is thanks.”
Big Brothers Big Sisters Greater Fredericksburg is a nonprofit organization with a mission to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.
