"Music has made me more interested in studying."

We focus on music education, so no child in our district misses out on the proven benefits of learning an instrument. Our music program, Music for Learning, provides music education to more than 5,000 1st to 5th grade students in 14 schools.

"To me playing an instrument puts a meaning to my life."

Music education has consistently been proven to improve math and language skills, develop discipline and social skills, and increase engagement in school. Music education offers students a chance to experience the joy of creativity, too often left out of today's test-driven school day. Studies also show that high school students in music have lower dropout rates, but couldn't experience this benefit without music education in the lower grades.

"When the school year ends I'm sad because I'm without a violin."

Many of our students can't afford private lessons, or even their own instrument. Please help us give the students of Redwood City the education they need for a successful future!

"Music makes me feel smart"

The Redwood City Education Foundation has been advancing and enriching education opportunities for all students in the k-8 grade Redwood City School District since 1983. We also support technology innovation in our classrooms through our SMART grants and wellness programs through our 2 community races: 4th of July Parade Run and OktobeRun.
