The READ Center

A nonprofit organization

$3,945 raised by 35 donors

In Richmond, Henrico, and Chesterfield, more than 73,000 adults struggle every day because they do not read well. The READ Center is working to change that.

The READ Center provides classroom instruction and one-to-one tutoring to adults with low-level literacy.  READ's curriculum includes reading, comprehension, basic math, and digital skills. READ serves people who need help getting jobs, passing job certifications, who want to help their children with their homework, who want to read their bibles or medical directives and prescriptions.

Learning to read as an adult is hard work. It takes time, dedication and the bravery to admit that you are an adult who cannot read. Watch as two of our students share about how The READ Center has impacted them:

We believe everyone needs and deserves a literate life. Please support adult literacy in RVA this holiday season. Give now!
