Ready4Reading Book Club

Illiteracy cost the American taxpayer approximately 230 billion dollars a year, this is due to the fact that illiteracy is growing at the rate of 2.5 million a year and the United States is seeing a growing number of Americans who can not read their own medicine bottles.   

Our mission is to ensure that wherever a child gets their food, clothing or shelter to have a team there to help with their homework, read to them, do crafts with them and give them books.  To date, we have given out close to 50,000 books to below poverty children in the high desert. 

We have put in over 2 thousand hours at the homeless shelter as homework helpers, reading, bringing in special guest authors,  individuals with special training in various fields and teaching the parents the importance of reading to their children. We are addressing this problem one book at a time
