Rebuilding Together New Britain, Inc.

GRASSROOTS:

In 1992, a group of dedicated citizens came together with a shared goal: to lessen the burden on low-income homeowners in New Britain. One fine Saturday in late April, they packed up their tools and visited several homes, completing useful rebuilds for a handful of deserving clients. 

TWENTY SEVEN YEARS LATER:

Now, over twenty-seven years later, Rebuilding Together New Britain, a community revitalization partner, continues its work by repairing homes, revitalizing communities, and rebuilding lives in our neighborhoods. 

HOMEOWNERS IN NEED:

Every week we receive requests from a distraught New Britain homeowners who are in need of an essential urgent home repair. In just this month alone, Rebuilding Together New Britain has received pleas to take care of active plumbing leaks, decaying front steps, loose railings, and broken or old windows. While we are fortunate to secure funding to help many individuals, it does not take long before that funding runs out, leaving vulnerable homeowners nowhere to turn; therefore, they are forced to live in unsafe and uncomfortable conditions.

OUR TRIED & TRUE PROGRAMS:

Our annual Rebuilding Day,  Safe at Home, and Team Build projects have been responsible for over 660 home repair projects, hundreds of happy clients, thousands of fulfilled community volunteers, and dozens of businesses becoming more involved in the New Britain community.

OUR DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS:

A true volunteer-based organization, Rebuilding Together New Britain partners with many sectors for volunteer support, including civic and religious organizations, colleges and universities, and local and national corporations such as  Stanley Black & Decker, Lowes, Santander Bank, C.W. Resources, YouthBuild, local NRZs, and more. We also collaborates with organizations  such as the New Britain Fire Department, Children’s Medical Center of Connecticut, the American Red Cross, and more.
